Word of Mouth Resources
There is a wide range of resources that cover the ever-changing universe of word of mouth marketing. Many of these sites are blogs that both critique the latest word of mouth developments and demonstrate how quickly this kind of information travels online.
Word of Mouth Marketing Association (WOMMA)
www.womma.org
WOMMA is the official trade association for the word of mouth marketing industry,
and its mission is to promote and improve word of mouth and other forms of "buzz" marketing.
WOMMA's website is an excellent place to begin learning more about how to use
word of mouth effectively. It contains a comprehensive library of articles that
explain word of mouth and provide insight into best practices. It also publishes
a word of mouth marketing code of ethics that details best practices and unacceptable
practices for building buzz.
Word of Mouth Communication Study
http://wom-study.blogspot.com
Walter Carl, an assistant professor in the communications studies program at Northeastern University, publishes this blog to discuss his research on word of mouth marketing and buzz marketing practices. He regularly shares news (and his views) on which word of mouth practices are working and which are not.
Brand Autopsy
http://brandautopsy.typepad.com
John Moore, a former marketer for Whole Foods Markets and Starbucks, now runs his own consultancy focused on customer service and marketing. His Brand Autopsy blog not only provides his unique take on marketing news and practices, but also regularly provides links to other articles that should interest word of mouth marketers.
Seth Godin's Blog
http://sethgodin.typepad.com/seths_blog
Author and Web marketing icon Seth Godin uses his frequently updated and opinionated
blog to post news and insights into the latest practices on the Internet. Look
for his thoughts related to customer service, viral marketing and all things
word of mouth.
Church of the Customer
http://customerevangelists.typepad.com
How have Web 2.0 and other advances in "citizen marketing" affected the way products are marketing and sold? Authors/consultants Ben McConnell and Jackie Huba regularly look at ways companies can create "customer evangelists" and actively encourage word of mouth about their products and services.
Technorati

BlogPulse
www.blogpulse.com
Keeping up with what the blogosphere is saying about you and your products/services
is critical to successful word of mouth marketing. These two sites serve as the
top "search engines" of the blogging world. Technorati can tell you
what blogs are saying and who is linking to these comments. BlogPulse – run
by Nielsen's BuzzMetrics group – also catalogs blogs while providing tools
that can be used to analyze this traffic.
